Pioneer
Girls is a weekly club, meeting on Wednesday evenings during
the school year from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at CPC, where girls
learn that God's word is the light that guides us in our walk with
Jesus. Our theme verse is Psalm 119:105, "Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet and a light unto my path."
Pioneer Girls really helps our girls apply the Bible stories and
principles that they learn in Sunday school to their everyday lives.
("I love to collect rocks, but what does that have to do with
Jesus?") Girls in 1-8 grades are busy every week with crafts
and games, Bible lessons, and Scripture memory. By completing specific
requirements, the girls earn badges or pins, much like a "Christian
version of Girl Scouts."
Although we have some club-wide outings such as the October hayride,
the annual Christmas party, Missions Night, and the Closing ceremony,
most club nights the girls are divided into four separate groups,
pursuing activities and Bible instruction at an age-appropriate
level. The four groups are: Voyagers (1st & 2nd grades), Pathfinders
(3rd & 4th grades), Trailblazers (5th & 6th grades), and
Challengers (7th & 8th grades). The adult leaders use Pioneer
Club materials and handbooks, but our leaders also have the freedom
to tailor their individual club's program to match their own strengths
and interests, as well as the needs and delights of the girls in
their group. What a wonderful time we have on Wednesday evenings!
See our Schedule of Events below for some important
dates.

We have a lot of fun in Pioneer Girls, so this has become a great
outreach ministry for the girls. Friends from school or the neighborhood,
who may not have ever heard about God, learn what it means to follow
Jesus Christ.
Because there is no lack of enthusiasm from the girls, and seeing
them apply Christ to their daily lives is such a wonderful joy to
us, we pray that God would continue to equip this ministry of discipleship
with mentors and leaders who have fresh vision, and hearts for the
girls both in and beyond CPC’s front door. Please pray for
the leadership of this ministry and for each of the 30-35 young
women who are participating in it. Thank you!
