Singles Christian Fellowship of Columbia Presbyterian Church in
Columbia, MD
SCF is a group of post-grad school age Christian
singles that want to meet new people, form new friendships, get
better connected into CPC, grow spiritually, and have fun doing it. Our meetings seek to blend fellowship and discipleship
in a way that is natural, easy-going, and welcoming. The group is open to all.
The purpose of SCF is three-fold: to develop and maintain Intimate
Community; to encourage and utilize Gifted Ministry among the body
at CPC; and ultimately to develop a Harvest Mentality among our
members. While SCF is not a cell group, it in many ways intentionally
emulates the cell model of fellowship.
Our activities strive to balance the necessary elements of a healthy
and growing community. Every other Monday we meet in member’s
houses for a potluck dinner and a casual discussion of an article
of personal or spiritual significance, after which we pray for one
another. We also host monthly weekend social events, and a monthly
Sunday afternoon lunch.
SCF’s vision for the future includes the following:
- Deepening of Intimate Community through regular meetings and
increasing attendance
- Encouragement of Gifted Ministry as singles get involved in
hosting events, and SCF leadership
- Development of a Harvest Mentality through invitations to non-Christian
friends and singles’ participation in Greeters and similar
ministries
We continue to look forward to what God is pleased to do in and
through this ministry.
